Learning That Builds Future Success
Sixth grade encourages students to become thoughtful learners who can analyze information, solve complex problems, and communicate their ideas with confidence. Whether they're evaluating evidence in a text, solving multi-step mathematical problems, exploring scientific concepts, or studying world geography, students continue building the skills they'll use throughout middle school, high school, and beyond.
English Language Arts: Students strengthen reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through literature, informational texts, biographies, and memoirs while developing analytical, explanatory, and narrative writing.
Math: Students build mathematical confidence by exploring ratios, fractions, equations, rational numbers, data analysis, and real-world problem-solving.
Science: Students investigate life science by exploring living systems, populations, the microbiome, metabolism, and heredity through inquiry-based learning.
Social Studies: Students develop geographic knowledge by studying the physical and cultural characteristics of North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, and by exploring how geography shapes societies and cultures.
