Athletic Hall of Fame

West Bend East and West High Schools recognize their outstanding athletic tradition by inducting former West Bend High School, West Bend East High School, and West Bend West High School athletes, coaches, and distinguished athletic program contributors to the West Bend East and West High Schools Athletic Hall of Fame.

Objectives

To give deserved recognition to outstanding former West Bend High School, West Bend East High School, and West Bend West High School athletes, coaches, and distinguished contributors.
To illustrate to current students and community members those individuals who have been instrumental in creating the outstanding athletic traditions.
To promote continued interest in the West Bend East and West High Schools athletic programs via alumni and community members.
To publicly celebrate West Bend High School and West Bend East and West High Schools outstanding athletic tradition on a yearly basis through the annual induction process.

Nomination Process

Nominations must be submitted via the Hall of Fame Nomination Form (see below) and are due by August 21, 2026. There are no restrictions on who may submit a nomination form. A letter of recommendation from the nominator and letters of support from others must be submitted in addition to submitting the nomination form.

Criteria

Athlete Nominee Criteria

Graduate of West Bend High School, West Bend East High School, or West Bend West High School.
Exceptional individual accomplishments within a sport (e.g. all-state selection, state championships, all-conference, state records, school records).
Significant contributions made to the success of a team (e.g. team state championship, team conference championship, team records).
Strong moral character and good citizenship throughout the athlete’s life.

Note: Beyond these criteria, having individual and team success in multiple sports is valued and post-graduate distinction in sports will be given strong consideration.

Coaching Nominee Criteria

Coach at West Bend East High School, West Bend West High School, or West Bend High School or alumnus who has achieved coaching distinctions elsewhere.
Excellence in coaching (e.g. record, conference championships, state competitions, team state championships, individuals coached who earned state championships, etc).
Contributions to the positive development of students and demonstration of special care and concern for the development of student-athletes.
Varsity coaching responsibilities over an extended period of time and/or coaching in multiple sports.

Distinguished Contributor Nominee Criteria

Individual who has made significant contributions to West Bend High School or West Bend East or West High Schools athletics in roles other than participation in or coaching a sport (e.g. employees of the West Bend School District, alumni, community members).
Not currently employed by the West Bend School District.
Longevity of contributions of time and energy in support of West Bend High School, West Bend East High School, or West Bend West High School athletics.
Strong moral character and good citizenship.

Hall of Fame Committee

Members of the committee will be chosen by the current East and West High School athletic directors. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee is comprised of:

Selection Process

Hall of Fame Selection Committee reviews list of nominations. Discussion follows and, if needed, further research conducted.

Award decisions will be made by consensus

Up to four athlete awardee, two coaching awardee, and two distinguished contributor awardees will be selected per year. An award need not be given every year.

Hall of Fame Composition and Maintenance

Each inductee will be recognized with a plaque which will be displayed in the West Bend High Schools Field House lobby. The West Bend School District shall be the sole owner of the West Bend East and West High Schools Athletic Hall of Fame and will maintain it in a manner consistent with the high honor of the recognition.

Induction Ceremony

Awardees will be formally inducted at a ceremony during Homecoming. Every effort will be made to have the awardees or their representatives present.
