The WBSD Way
What is the WBSD Way?
The goal of the WBSD Way is to promote and teach appropriate pro-social skills and behaviors to maximize academic success for all students.
The West Bend School District is proud to offer the WBSD Way, a framework of supports designed to maximize academic engagement and achievement for all students. It includes proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate behaviors in order to create a positive environment in our schools and our community.
If a child doesn’t know how to read, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to swim, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to do math, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to drive, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to behave in school, WE TEACH.

How does WBSD Way benefit students?
- School environment is positive and predictable
- Increased instructional time and improved academic performance
- Increased safety and improved school climate
- Reduction in problem behaviors, office discipline referrals and suspensions

Family and community members can use the language of respectful, responsible and safe when talking about behavior at school, home and in the community. We can recognize our children’s positive behaviors and celebrate their behavioral successes!

Community Partners
The WBSD Way is proud to have a large number of community partners that support, encourage, and recognize students who display the WBSD Way out of the school buildings. Working together to reinforce common skills, expectations, and language, students have the opportunity to be acknowledged for being respectful, responsible, safe, and ready.
